Check out this guide to help you reach your fundraising goal!
When you register for the Walk for Animals, you’ll have access to your own fundraising page on "Join Me." Let
people know why you're passionate about raising money for the animals
at Monadnock Humane Society. You can post photos/videos of you and your
furry friends, set your fundraising goal and more!
The easiest way to jump start your fundraising efforts is to be the first to donate. Making
a self-donation to your fundraising page shows dedication to your cause
and support of MHS - even a small contribution makes a difference!
who to approach for donations. Make a list of people to ask for
support, such as family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, businesses
(i.e. dentist, doctor, gym, coffee shop, restaurant, hair stylist, etc)
and membership groups. Although
asking for support in person or by phone is more personal, emails are
also very effective. Send an email to all of your contacts - you may be
surprised by who wants to support you! A mass email definitely works but
individual emails will really stand out.
Some of our best fundraisers start a team to support homeless pets. Ask your friends, family or co-workers if they'd like to form a team and help support MHS and the Walk for Animals! For questions about teams, please contact Lindsay at Teams@humanecommunity.org

your story and fundraising goal in social media posts is a great way to
get support. Most donations from social media are made through
Facebook, but don’t forget about Twitter, Instagram or even LinkedIn!
Create personalized posts and link to your fundraising page. Posting
regular updates about your progress for your friends and family will
ultimately encourage even more donations.
Know what time your friends & followers are most active - morning vs night.
Remember to tag Monadnock Humane Society in your conversations so we can follow along with you!
Change your voicemail and answering machine messages to include information about your participation in the walk and where people can go to help you reach your goal.
companies offer matching gifts to employees fundraising for an amazing
cause. This is a great way to double the money you raise. Reach out to
your Human Resources department and check with your friends and family
to see if their company does this.
Tell your friends and family what their donations can provide at MHS and they’ll be more likely to help. You can send them specific success stories of how donations have saved lives.

A personal note makes your donors
MHS ensures that animals are safe, housed, and loved, and we support human wellness as well, since research shows that the animal-human bond improves people's mental and physical health.
We also help low-income pet owners through our pet food pantry, affordable spay/neuter and rabies clinics, and free boarding for pets of those who are homeless, victims of domestic violence, or entering a substance abuse program.
In addition, MHS is working to eliminate animal abuse and neglect in New Hampshire, and our adoption services contribute $1,512,100 to the region's economy through revenue spent for vet care, food, litter, grooming, and other pet items.
We receive no federal or state funding, and we are not affiliated with any national animal welfare organizations such as HSUS or ASPCA. MHS relies on the generosity of our community for support. Learn more about us at www.monadnockhumanesociety.org.
